Red River Triumph Club

About Us:

  • The Red River Triumph Club of the Dallas/Fort Worth area was organized in 1982 for Triumph owners and enthusiasts in the northern central Texas area. Membership is open to all who appreciate automobiles bearing the Triumph name. Our goal is to preserve, restore, educate about, and enjoy the Triumph marque of cars. Our membership is presently over 100 families. In addition to our monthly meetings, the club sponsors events such as rallies, technical seminars, swap meets, and road tours. Red River Shootout
Oct 19 – Oct 21 all-day

It’s that time of year again.  Football is about to start and that mean the Red River Shootout must be around the corner. This is always a great event due to the combined talents of the Central Oklahoma Vintage Triumph Register (COVTR) and the Red River Triumph Club (RRTC). This year’s Shootout is hosted by the RRTC with Jim and I responsible for putting the event together. The location is the quiet North Texas area between Gainesville and Muenster. The dates are the weekend of 19, 20 and 21 October.

The host hotel is the Comfort Inn at the northwest corner of the intersection of I-35 and US-82, easily reached from both OKC and DFW.

As usual we will have Friday night dinner at member’s choice locations around the Gainesville hotel with a full slate of events on Saturday.  Starting in the morning, there will be some arranged tours including Ron Huddleston’s machine shop and various other choices we’re working one.  Originally, we were to tour the Bob Smith Restoration shop but he stopped doing tours due to someone taking unauthorized pictures of his client’s cars. So Jim and I are scrambling to find other places to do that morning.

Lunch will be at the Pavilion in Muenster Park. For those with GPS, that’s 100 Maple Street. Lunch will be at 11:30am. About 1pm the rally will start from the Pavilion and end up back at the hotel in Gainesville in time to clean up and return to Muenster for dinner.

Dinner will be at Rohmer’s in Muenster about 6:30pm with rally results to be presented after. Rohmer’s restaurant was started by Emil Rohmer in 1953.  The family is still in business over 60 years later serving many of the same dishes and families.

Hotel: Comfort Inn, 1715 North I-35, Gainesville, TX 76240. (940) 665-5000 or 5559.

            1 King or 2 Queen for $90.

Lunch: Muenster Park, 100 Maple St, Muenster, TX 76252

Dinner: Rohmer’s, 217 E Division St, Muenster, TX 76252, (940) 759-2973.

We’re looking forward to a big turnout.

Wheels for Wellness Car Show
Oct 20 @ 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

For the past few years, the RRTC has had great attendance at the Wheel for Wellness Car Show.

Formerly known as Cruise in for the Cure, this show is held in the Sundance Square area of downtown Fort Worth.

It’s not unusual to see over 500 cars from works in progress to show room masterpieces.

Once again, we’ve been promised our own street, but we need to get at least a dozen cars signed up.

Please register ASAP for this fun and worth-while show and charity (supports Prostrate Cancer Awareness).
